Case Study: Ride High

The charity was formed in 2009 to help disadvantaged and challenging children in Milton Keynes by giving them a new focus in their lives and provide them with long-term support and new skills that will help them participate positively in society.

Through provision of the opportunity of learning to ride and to look after horses, the charity integrates focused activities designed to improve literacy, numeracy and social skills, including trips to equine related sites and events. Children are all referred by childcare professionals, including psychiatrists, GPs, social workers or youth offending teams and they are all priority one children, which means they are in immediate danger of harm to themselves or others, at risk of being taken into care, or are not in school, college or work. The Foundation has supported the charity's work since 2010.
